When my two favorite things in the world combine…FOOD&DISNEY, I just have to show up. This was my first time at the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival and I wanted to do it right! If you’re a pass holder you must purchase the Sip and Savor Pass. It was $45 and well worth it. You get 8 choices, which comes out to about $5.62 each. Considering some of the options go beyond $7, it was a MUST! You can purchase this at AP Corner, Studio Store or Kingswell Camera Shop. An added bonus is you get a pin for every location you visit! I know how much us Disney fans love pins.
Now to the food, because we know that’s why we’re all here. I didn’t anticipate how hard of a decision choosing my food would be (such a hard life I know).
Crispy Orange Chicken & Rice with a Garlic Cracker
Found at the Citrus Grove booth.
VERDICT: The sauce made it! Not the most unique bite out there, but would definitely eat again.
Avocado & Pepper Jack Petite Guacamole Burger
Found at the Avocado Time booth.
VERDICT: FAV FAV FAV FAV. Pepper Jack + Avocado + Meat= Match made in heaven. This bite was perfect in every way.
Choice #3 & #4
Chicken Teriyaki Slider with Spicy DOLE Pineapple Jam
Korean BBQ Beef Short Rib Tacos
Found at the LA Style booth.
VERDICT: A huge fan of these two. If I had left over tickets LA Style would be the booth I run to! Who doesn’t love tacos? Plus, I think I want to put Spicy Dole Pineapple Jam on all my sandwiches from now on.
Popcorn Lemonade with Whipped Cream and Candy Corn Garnish
Found at the Off The Cob booth.
VERDICT: POPCORN LEMONADE? I had to try it! I so wanted to love this beverage! It’s so beautifully garnished with candy corn and it had all the makes for a perfect sip. I would compare it to the buttered popcorn jelly bean, but it just didn’t do it for me! Even after all that I still say it is a MUST TRY! Where else can you drink popcorn lemonade? You must try it just for the experience.
Strawberry Pineapple Float with Strawberry Popping Pearls
Found at the Strawberry Patch booth.
VERDICT: Favorite beverage of the day! The ice cream and popping pearls added such an amazing dimension to the strawberry/pineapple juice. Think Pina Colada meets boba. Sounds just delish doesn’t it?
The festival runs until April 12, so get those appetites ready and get to California Adventure! I’m already planning my Epcot Food & Wine Festival mini-trip for September and I can’t wait to try and share all the international cuisines!
